Our Theory of Change
From crisis to confidence: how we create lasting impact
What is a Theory of Change?
A Theory of Change is a specific and measurable description of a social change that forms the basis for planning, ongoing decision-making and evaluation. This encourages organisations to reflect on their goals and plans and make sure they’re clearly understood. (NCVO)
Our Impact Journey
Since April 2024, we’ve been working with our Learning Partner, Trust Impact - supporting us every step of the way on our impact journey. Their insight and expertise have helped us explore how we make a difference, and how we can strengthen that difference over time.
A key part of this journey has been co-creating our Theory of Change together with our Trustees, staff and stakeholders. This has shaped the way we think about impact, helping us design our desired impact and identify the outcomes that show we're making progress.
These outcomes will continue to evolve as we learn from the delivery of our pilot ‘One Call, That’s All’ over the next two years.
Our Desired Impact
People supported no longer live with fuel and food poverty.
Our Outcomes
Short-term outcomes
People feel immediate relief from the strain associated with fuel and food poverty
People are enabled to take available steps to overcome fuel and food poverty
Long-term outcomes
People are able to independently manage their fuel and food expenditure now and in the future
People feel an increased sense of hope for the future
One Call, That’s All
Utilita Giving has designed an innovative pilot ‘One Call, That’s All’ to tackle fuel and food poverty with compassion, dignity, and long-lasting impact.
Over the next two years, 6,000 people will receive personalised, needs-led support through a single point of access. Individuals will only need to tell their story once before receiving coordinated assistance.
With just one referral, they can access everything they need without repeating their situation multiple times, ensuring a seamless and dignified experience.
