Un-bee-lievable! UG takeover at Brentford FC

Utilita Giving’s Premier League debut will surely go down in history as one of the greats.

Thanks to our main corporate partner Utilita Energy, we took over Brentford FC’s fixture against Luton Town at the Gtech Community Stadium on December 2.

The charity had an incredible presence at the fixture and fans were very generous, donating more than £2,000 in cash which will be split between Utilita Giving and Hounslow Community Food Box.

The latter charity also benefitted from a raft of non-perishable food items, with hundreds of products being donated on the day.

Head of Partner Services at Brentford FC, Adam Ward, said:

“We know that Christmas will be a challenging time for many.

“As a partner, we're grateful that Utilita Giving can help those in the local community by supporting with fuel costs and food.

“We know the impact our fans can have on matchdays and we’re hopeful our supporters can use this same passion to come together and help others in need.”

As always, the UG team hosted a handful of activities to raise awareness of fuel and food poverty.

The Wheel of Giving made an appearance, giving fans the chance to win vouchers; a raffle saw some take home some excellent prizes; and one lucky fan took to the pitch at half time to play Football Bowls.

Keira Meadus from Utilita Giving said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Utilita and Brentford for allowing us to be a part of their partnership.

“There are few better ways to be seen by so many people and raise awareness than through football.

“We have forged some incredibly strong relationships in the area thanks to both the club and company, and we continue to reach even more vulnerable people across the area.

“Thank you again - together, we are making a real difference.”
